Welcome to Stretchy
We’re an Auckland-based yoga community of casual practice, coffee and chats.
We’re here for the brave (those looking to embrace new people, practices & ideas), and those who crave (those seeking connection to themselves and others).
Led by a different teacher each week, we offer the chance to experience a variety of yoga styles & practices. Always with an element of social and personal connection at the heart of it. Then we head to a cafe or bar for social stretching.
From beginners to yoga teachers, all ages, every body welcome. Always.

We’re looking to expand Stretchy in every way, shape & form.
If you’re keen on leading a Stretchy community in your area, get in touch. We’re always open to partnerships, event ideas and different methods of practice which foster deep connections to self and others. Drop us a line if you’re interested in collaborating in this space too.

You never need to be able to! We’re an accessible, all-level yoga offering. We cater for all abilities from first timers, through to every day yogis. With the teacher on the day able to offer up modifications for your needs.
And when in doubt - just bend your knees and see how much closer your toes are then!

Our meetups are equal parts yoga & socialising. We’re here to build a welcoming and inclusive community of new and old friends. Yoga is our equaliser & ice breaker. Each practice is an invitation to try something new together, kicking off friendly banter as we head to our favourite local cafes & bars.

Yes! We’re here to help you meet or re-meet new mates. Whether you’re an Auckland newbie, ready to expand beyond your social circles, looking for a date or want to bring all your mates, we gently nudge you to say “Kia ora” to someone new each session.

Kimberley Torrie is our founder and resident Stretchy organiser. Loving what the run clubs have done to equalise and socialise running, she thought it was about time for a yoga community to do the same. Kimberley gained her 200YTT through Inspire Yoga Teacher Training in 2025 and is now a regular on the Stretchy schedule.
We then have a wide web of wonderful Yoga Teaching friends who join us each week to lead the practice. Hailing from all over the world, no two teachers or practices are ever the same.
Look out for Kimberley at your first Stretchy meetup - she’ll make sure you’re sorted & feeling comfy.

Sharing the love before and after the practice is very much appreciated! As a word-of-mouth community we adore a shoutout @stretchy.yoga and to the teachers.
However a wee reminder to be mindful of taking photos & videos during. We love to see Stretchy shared but first and foremost it’s about everyone being in their respective moments mindfully. Our Stretchy co-ordinators subtly & respectfully capture content during the practice but respectfully try to avoid recognisable faces, “interesting” poses and those moments of pure introspection.
